Prof. Dr. Peykan Türkçüoğlu completed her medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, followed by her ophthalmology residency at the same institution in 2003. Her residency thesis focused on the role of serum endothelin-1 levels and life stress factors in central serous chorioretinopathy. Her academic career progressed steadily, starting as an Assistant Professor at Fırat University (2005-2007), specializing in medical retina and vitreoretinal surgery. She then moved to İnönü University, first as an Assistant Professor (2007-2008) and then achieving the title of Associate Professor in 2008.
A significant part of her development involved international experience as a visiting researcher in the vitreoretinal and medical retina departments at the prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, USA (2009-2010). Following this, she worked as an Associate Professor at Göznuru Eye Hospital (2010) before attaining the rank of Professor at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine in 2015. Currently, she serves as an Ophthalmology Specialist at the Private Göznuru Eye Hospital. Her extensive expertise covers vitreoretinal surgery, medical retina, cataract, uveitis, strabismus, laser procedures, and eye trauma, alongside interests in pediatric ophthalmology, refractive surgery, glaucoma, corneal transplantation, retinal detachment, and amblyopia.
