Asst. Prof. Dr. Turgut Yüksel graduated with both bachelor's (MD) and master's degrees from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 2011. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Namık Kemal University Faculty of Medicine Research and Application Hospital in 2017. His early career included a stint as a general practitioner in emergency health services (2011-2012) before starting his residency (2012-2017). After becoming a specialist, he worked at Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital from 2017 onwards. Currently, Dr. Yüksel serves patients at his private clinic in Istanbul. He holds membership in the Turkish Ophthalmology Society.
Dr. Yüksel's areas of expertise include cataract surgery, frequently utilizing advanced technology "smart" lenses, various laser treatments for eye conditions, management of tear duct obstruction, surgical correction of ptosis (droopy eyelid) and strabismus (eye misalignment), eyelid aesthetic surgery (blepharoplasty), glaucoma management, and medical retina treatments for conditions like macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. His interests also cover a broad spectrum of common eye issues such as astigmatism, eye inflammation, retinal problems, myopia, general visual impairments, eye pain, styes, and nasolacrimal duct blockages. His career follows a typical path from university training to public service and finally to private practice.
