Op. Dr. Tuncer Güney completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in his hometown of Kayseri before graduating from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1993. Uniquely, he first specialized in Medical Biochemistry at Istanbul Haseki Training and Research Hospital in 1998. He then pursued a second specialization, completing his ophthalmology residency at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Medicine in 2005.
His career includes service at Adıyaman Besni State Hospital (compulsory service) and Istanbul Prof. Dr. Necmi Ayanoğlu Silivri State Hospital. From 2013, he worked at Private Beylikdüzü Kolan Hospital, accumulating experience with over three thousand cases. Currently, he provides ophthalmology services at Çamlıca Medipol University Hospital. Dr. Güney holds dual specializations in Ophthalmology and Medical Biochemistry, a combination potentially offering deeper insights into the systemic basis of eye diseases. His ophthalmology interests include allergies, styes, astigmatism, Behçet's disease, glaucoma, eye pain, and allergic eye conditions, along with cataract and smart lens treatments. He has a significant record of scientific publications and presentations on diverse topics, including Von Willebrand factor in hyperthyroidism, demodicosis in chalazion, blindness incidence, RNFL thickness in sleep apnea, hypertensive choroidopathy, pterygium surgery techniques, and congenital myasthenia.
